In church last night, we read the following passage:
9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.Psalm 9:9-10
When we read them, I just soaked in these words, encouraged in the truth of who God is. I’m posting them over on Seek Justice, today.
As I write this, I’m so thankful that God is a God who frees the oppressed. In the same breath, I look at myself and ask “when have I been the oppressor?
When have I chosen not to love my enemies, and instead oppressed them?
When have I, in my apathy or selfishness, not taken steps to free the oppressed but further enslaved them?
